FootballSwap — Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 16, 2026
FootballSwap (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is a fan utility that helps people track a physical
football sticker album and find others nearby to trade missing/repeated stickers. This policy
explains what we collect, why, and your choices. FootballSwap is not affiliated with,
endorsed by, or sponsored by FIFA, Panini, any league, federation, or club.
Information we collect
- Account. When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a basic identifier
and (if provided) your name/email to create your account. Sign-in is handled entirely by Apple or
Google — we never see, receive, or store a password. You choose a public nickname.
- Profile. Your city, country, and a preferred public meeting point that you enter.
- Album. Which stickers you mark as missing, have, or repeated.
- Trade posts. When you publish a post, your nickname, city, meeting point, a
trade note, and your repeated/missing sticker numbers are stored and shown to other users.
- Messages. The content of in-app chats between you and another user.
- Approximate location. If you allow location access, your device’s approximate
(city-level) location is used to show nearby trades and calculate distances. We do not track you
in the background. If you decline, we fall back to the city in your profile.
- Technical data. Basic operational data required to run the service (e.g.
timestamps) handled by our backend provider.
How we use your information
- To provide core features: album tracking, the trade marketplace, match suggestions, and chat.
- To compute “near me” distances and rank possible trades.
- For safety and moderation: handling blocks and reports.
- To manage your account, including deletion.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use third-party advertising or
tracking SDKs.
What is visible to others
- Your trade posts (nickname, city, meeting point, trade note, sticker numbers)
are public to other signed-in users.
- Messages are visible only to the two participants of a conversation.
- Users you block cannot see your posts or message you, and you won’t see theirs.
Service providers
We use Supabase to host our database, authentication, and storage. National flag
images are loaded from flagcdn.com. These providers process data on our behalf to
operate the app.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can edit your profile, delete individual posts,
and delete your entire account from inside the app (Profile → Delete account), which
permanently removes your profile, album, posts, and messages.
Children
FootballSwap is intended for users 17 and older and is not directed to children.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and protected at the database level with
row-level security so users can only access their own private data.
Your choices
- Turn location permission on/off in iOS Settings.
- Edit or remove your profile details and posts at any time.
- Delete your account to erase your data.
International
Your data is stored on our backend provider’s infrastructure and may be processed in the region
where that infrastructure is located.
Changes
We may update this policy; we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes,
provide notice in the app.
